Lyon County Nevada needs to be open for business, actively encouraging development, especially around the massive Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRI) and USA Parkway, and provide the resources for new and existing ventures through its official website, offering support for licensing, permits, and fostering a business-friendly environment.  Our Youth are leaving Lyon County seeking opportunities elsewhere.  Our classrooms are shrinking.  We must grow or die.

Making it easier to start and run a business within the county can be a significant draw. 

• Simplified Permitting: Creating a "one-stop-shop" or streamlined process for obtaining necessary local licenses and permits.
• Clear Requirements: Providing clear, accessible information on all local requirements can reduce the burden on new businesses. 

Cultivate a Strong Workforce

Businesses need skilled employees. Lyon County can invest in education and training to create an attractive talent pool. 

• Job Training Programs: Partnering with local colleges or trade schools to offer specific training programs that match the needs of targeted industries.
• Talent Attraction: Highlighting the quality of life, housing options, and amenities in the county to attract skilled workers. 

Marketing and Outreach

Lyon County must actively promote our advantages to potential businesses. 

• Economic Development Teams: Employing a dedicated team to proactively reach out to businesses and market the county's unique benefits.
